David Williams

David Williams is a Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security at the University of Portsmouth since January 2019, previously serving as a Lecturer in Secure Systems at the University of Surrey from May 2016 to December 2018. Prior to academic roles, David held positions such as Principal Research Engineer at Thales and Postdoctoral Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. David began his academic journey as a PhD Student Researcher at the University of Surrey from November 2007 to March 2011, after completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Formal Methods and Security at the same institution. Earlier experience includes working as an Assistant Software Developer at Micro Drainage and as an Industrial Trainee at IBM. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Surrey, completed in 2006.
