James Smith

James Smith is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Portsmouth since February 1995, where responsibilities include teaching organic, physical, and pharmaceutical chemistry, along with coordinating various modules in degree programs. In addition, James served as a Senior Research Fellow, successfully attracting research funding, mentoring PhD students, and authoring numerous research publications. Previous roles include Research Fellow managing the Scanning Probe Microscopy Laboratory, Safety Officer at Orange Chemicals Limited, and Technical Services and Development Chemist at BP. James holds a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education, a PhD in Chemistry, and a BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry, all from the University of Portsmouth.
