Mark Cooper currently serves as the Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Portsmouth, focusing on the strategic development of UK education partnerships and Degree apprenticeships. Since 2022, Mark has been the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the University of Portsmouth Academy Trust, an initiative conceived and established by Mark in collaboration with various educational stakeholders. Additionally, Mark holds roles as a governor and Chair of the Search & Governance Committee at City of Portsmouth College, a Board Trustee for the Helena Kennedy Foundation, and an Expert Reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. Mark has a diverse background in educational governance, having served on various boards, including UTC Portsmouth and LightHouse Learning Trust. Mark’s educational qualifications include an MA in Professional Research Methods, Education from the University of Portsmouth and an MA in Leadership, Management & Professional Practice from the University of Chester, among other credentials.
