Krystn Monroe has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Krystn began their career as a Community News Reporter at The Orange County Register in 1994 and worked there until 1996. Krystn then joined the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin as a Reporter, where they covered school districts in both Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties. During their time there, they also created a new beat in Glendora. In 1999, Krystn became an Assistant Bureau Chief at the Los Angeles Daily News. Since 2000, they have been serving as the Director of Brand Marketing and Communications at the University of San Diego.

Krystn (Shrieve) Monroe obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they studied from 1989 to 1994.
