Nick Boyd

Nick Boyd, PhD, LPCC, NCC, serves as an Assistant Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego since September 2018, where responsibilities include teaching courses in various counseling-related subjects for graduate students. In addition to academic roles, Nick is the Lead Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, playing a crucial role in providing evidence-based PTSD treatment and overseeing clinician training programs. Other professional experiences include positions as a Behavioral Health Officer with the California State Guard, Associate Therapist Supervisor at Cerebral, and roles in resilience training and psychological health consulting. Nick holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands and has earned both an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of San Diego and Portland State University, respectively.
