Nicole Danos is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University of San Diego, where responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced biology classes and serving as principal investigator of the Comparative Anatomy & Biomechanics lab. With previous experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Tufts University and UC Irvine, research focused on skeletal muscle properties in fish and their implications for autonomous vehicle design and spinal injury rehabilitation. Academic beginnings included roles as a graduate research fellow at Harvard University and a graduate research assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where research involved biomechanics and collagenous structures. Additional roles span from an adjunct instructor at Harvard to program manager at the UC Berkeley Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, and also include entrepreneurship as co-owner of a bookstore cafe. Nicole holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Harvard University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
