Janice Coen is a Senior Research Scientist at the University of San Francisco since June 2020 and currently serves as a Project Scientist III at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) within the Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Laboratory. With a substantial history at NCAR from 1992 to 2018, Janice has held various roles including Project Scientist II and Co-leader of NCAR's Wildland Fire Initiative, where efforts focused on identifying scientific priorities and conducting pivotal research on wildland fires and atmospheric phenomena. Janice has also contributed to numerous editorial boards and committees, providing expertise in wildland fire research. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and M.S. in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Chicago, along with a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Grove City College.
