Josh Hixson is an experienced researcher in grape and wine science, currently serving as an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of South Australia since February 2019. With a diverse background, Josh has held multiple roles at The Australian Wine Research Institute from October 2012 to October 2024, including Impact Lead, Research Scientist in flavour and aroma, Research Scientist in waste reuse, and Post Doctoral Scientist. Josh's work focuses on creating impactful projects for the wine sector and supervising graduate students in various research initiatives. Additionally, involvement in the Wine Australia Future Leaders Cohort from May 2021 to December 2022 highlights Josh's commitment to fostering innovation and leadership within the industry. A Ph.D. graduate in Chemistry from the University of Adelaide, Josh has also contributed to science communication through volunteer blogging and has extensive hands-on experience in laboratory management and research methodologies.
