Patrick Allington is a seasoned professional in the fields of research, writing, and education, currently serving as the Manager of Graduate Research Development at the University of South Australia since December 2022. From January 2005, Patrick has been engaged in freelance work as an editor, writer, and researcher. Previously, Patrick held the position of Publications Director for the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide from September 2021 to December 2022 and for the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety from August 2019 to February 2021. At Flinders University, contributions included roles as a lecturer in English and Creative Writing from February 2014 to August 2019, along with academic integrity coordination. Board memberships at Writers SA and the Australian Book Review occurred between 2014 and 2018. Earlier experience includes serving as a Commissioning Editor at the University of Adelaide Press from February 2010 to January 2013.
