Amie Freeman

Amie Freeman currently serves as the Assistant Head of Acquisitions & Scholarly Communication at the University of South Carolina, where responsibilities include overseeing the acquisition and management of library collections and leading initiatives in scholarly communication and publishing. Additionally, Amie is an Adjunct Instructor, developing and teaching graduate courses on digital libraries and digital image collections. Previously, Amie worked as a Scholarly Communication Librarian, where the focus was on creating digital research services and policies related to open access and intellectual property. Earlier experience includes the role of Assistant Interlibrary Loan Librarian, aimed at enhancing patron experiences through improved services. Amie holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, both from the University of South Carolina.
