Amit Sheth

Amit Sheth is a prominent academic and researcher in the field of computer science and engineering, currently serving as the NCR Chair and Professor at the University of South Carolina since June 2019. Sheth is the founding director of the first university-wide Artificial Intelligence Institute in the US Southeast, which was established in July 2019. Presently, Sheth holds fellowship positions at several esteemed organizations, including ACM, AAAS, and AAAI, recognized for significant contributions to information integration and knowledge-based analytics. As the founder and board member of Cognovi Labs, Sheth applies advanced techniques in emotion and sentiment analysis to transform social data into actionable insights across various industries. Additionally, Sheth has held advisory roles with SoPact and Edamam LLC, and co-founded ezDI, contributing to workflow management and semantic technology. Sheth earned a PhD and MS from The Ohio State University and a BE from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
