Joe Sobieralski

Joe Sobieralski has a strong background in higher education administration and finance. Joe began their career at George Mason University, serving as the Assistant Budget Director from 2004 to 2007 and then as the Director of Business & Finance for Auxiliary Enterprises & University Life from 2007 to 2011. Joe then moved to the University of South Carolina Aiken and held the position of Vice Chancellor for Finance & Administration/ CFO from 2011 to 2016. Sobieralski then returned to the University of South Carolina and held various roles, including Budget Director and Assistant Vice President of Administrative Operations, before becoming the University Treasurer and Associate Vice President/Chief of Staff in the Administration & Finance department in 2021. Joe currently serves as the Senior Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance and University Treasurer.

Joe Sobieralski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business in 2001. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports & Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina in the same year. Joe later pursued further education and completed a Master's in Accounting from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business in 2003. Joe has also acquired additional certifications, including Certified Auxiliary Services Professional (CASP), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Facility Management Professional (FMP).
