Kate Chappell

Kate Chappell currently serves as the Department Chair of Professional Nursing Practice and Professor at the University of South Carolina College of Nursing, where responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate nursing courses and developing simulations for clinical education. As Co-Program Director and Co-Primary Investigator for Childcare Ready for All and BabyCoach, Chappell provides training and support to childcare providers and families of children with healthcare needs. Previous experience includes serving as a Forensic Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at the Child Advocacy Center of Aiken and The Dickerson Children's Advocacy Center, focusing on child abuse cases, and working as a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at Palmetto Health. Chappell holds a Ph.D. in Nursing Science, a Master's in Pediatric Primary Care, and a Bachelor's in Registered Nursing, all from the University of South Carolina.
