Steven Keith Scruggs

Steven Keith Scruggs, PhD, CSCS-D, USATF-2, USAW, is a seasoned Sport Performance Coach currently serving at the University of South Carolina-Columbia since June 2015. With a robust background in training and performance coaching, Steven has held previous roles at Greenville Health System, Nature of Speed Consultant, the United States Olympic Committee, East Tennessee State University, and UNC Asheville. Steven’s educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from East Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management from the University of North Carolina Asheville. Throughout a diverse career, Steven has focused on coaching athletes in various sports, particularly in speed development and performance optimization.
