Daniel Engebretson

VP, Research & Sponsored Programs at University of South Dakota

Dan Engebretson serves as the Vice President for Research at The University of South Dakota since June 2005, where also holds titles as Chair of Biomedical Engineering and Research Director for the Graduate Education and Applied Research Center. In addition to academic roles, Dan is the President and Co-Founder of Tailored Medical Devices, Inc. since June 2017 and has been President of Prairie Scientific Innovations, Inc. since May 2007. Previously, Dan held the position of Senior Research Specialist at Avera McKennan Hospital from March 2004 to June 2005 and worked as a Senior Scientist at Dakota Technologies, Inc. from June 1998 to May 2004. Dan earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Michigan State University between 1991 and 1998 and a BA in Chemistry from Augustana University (SD) from 1984 to 1991.
