Burhan Hafez

Burhan Hafez, Ph.D., currently serves as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and New Frontiers Fellow at the University of Southampton since January 2024. Prior to this role, Burhan held positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Hamburg from October 2016 to December 2023. Burhan began a career in research at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research as a Research Intern from 2015 to 2016, and previously worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Malaya in 2013-2014. Burhan earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Hamburg in 2020 and a Master of Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from Universiti Malaya in 2014.
