David Bream

David Bream is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in academia and various industries. Since September 2002, David has served as the Director of Industry Partnerships and Professor of Innovation at the University of Southampton within the School of Healthcare, Enterprise, and Innovation, alongside leading the SETsquared Business Incubator, which supports technology start-ups. Prior to this, David was a board member and chairman of the Governance Committee for the Intellectual Property Regulation Board from April 2011 to March 2018. David founded and directed Cycer Consulting Limited and held roles such as Sales Manager at IONA Technologies and Account Manager at Digital Equipment Company, where significant outsourcing contracts were secured. Early career experiences include software engineering positions at Active Memory Technology and Thorn EMI, where David contributed to military electronics simulations and radar signal processing. Academically, David holds an MBA from the University of Southampton, a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM, an M.Sc. in Digital Systems from Brunel University, and a B.Sc. in Physics from The University of Manchester.
