Lucy Briggs

Lucy Briggs is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in various financial management roles. Currently serving as the Deputy Head of Faculty Finance for Arts & Humanities at the University of Southampton since February 2015, Lucy previously held the position of Interim Assistant Financial Controller at Bournemouth University and has extensive experience at Babcock International Group, where Lucy managed financial operations for Shared Services and Careers. Earlier roles include Project Accountant and Financial Controller positions at Tui Marine, where Lucy oversaw a finance department for yacht charter and club holidays, and Regional Finance Manager at Sunsail, contributing to efficiencies and consolidating financial reporting. Lucy's career began in 1995 as a Financial Accountant at Contract Work and Travel and has included significant roles at EMI Records and Coopers & Lybrand, where Lucy advanced to Audit Senior. Lucy holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry from Callington Comprehensive School.
