Jake Kandell

Jake Kandell is a software engineer who is currently working at the University of Southern California in an unknown role. Jake has previously worked as an intern for both Facebook and AirPro Fan & Blower Company. At Facebook, Jake migrated ads delivery flow for Facebook Story to a new framework in PHP in order to modernize the system and better support future optimizations. Jake also incorporated ads caching to decrease ads fetching latency and server-side performance hit. The migration was completed ahead of schedule and rolled out to 100% of Facebook users after positive ad and infrastructure metrics were seen in A/B testing. At AirPro Fan & Blower Company, Jake led the development of a Python program that scraped and analyzed company websites to determine industry, address, phone number, and account type classification to store in a CRM database. This eliminated the need to spend 1000+ hours manually updating all 18,000 accounts in the database. Jake has also worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Southern California.

Jake Kandell earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. Jake also holds a high school diploma from William Mason High School, where they earned a 4.75 GPA.
