Mariano Rubio serves as the first full-time Professor of Engineering at Citrus College since August 2012, teaching diverse courses such as Numerical Computations for Engineers and CAD/Solidworks. In addition to this role, Mariano has extensive experience as an automotive instructor within the Toyota Technical Education Network, specializing in Automotive HVAC, and as a Medium and Heavy Duty Truck Instructor with expertise in diesel engine controls and vehicle systems. Mariano also coordinates the heavy-duty diesel truck program, overseeing student recruitment and curriculum accreditation. Concurrently, Mariano works as a support engineer with the University of Southern California's Pulsed Plasma Exhaust Remediation Research Team and as a field technician with Diesel Generator Services. Previous experience includes roles as a Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician and Shop Foreman at various Toyota dealerships. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California (expected in 2027), along with an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering and an AS in Automotive Technology.
