Christoph Lechner

Christoph Lechner is a Full Professor and Director of the Institute of Strategy and Management at Universität St.Gallen (HSG), a position held since June 2006. Lechner has a strong background in strategic management, with prior roles including Member of the Board at Helvetia Versicherungen Schweiz until January 2022 and Vice Chairman of the Board at Hügli Nahrungsmittel GmbH until December 2018. Notable academic positions include Visiting Professor roles at the University of California, Irvine, and The Wharton School, as well as Assistant and Associate Professor at Universität St.Gallen from 1999 to 2004. Lechner's educational credentials include a Habilitation and Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of St.Gallen, complemented by a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Augsburg and a Master's in Economics from Wayne State University.
