Beth Lawton

Chief Digital & Information Officer at University of Strathclyde

Beth Lawton is our Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO). She provides digital leadership for the University in support of our strategic plan, Vision 2025, and leads the University’s Information Services and Continuous Improvement Directorates.

Beth’s previous role was as CDIO for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust where she led their Global Digital Exemplar Programme as well as co-ordinating their digital response to COVID-19 and contributing to the development of national NHS digital programmes.

Prior to the NHS, Beth has delivered technology and digital transformation in a range of public sector organisations, including the Big Lottery Fund and the Royal Households.

In 2007, Beth was appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) in recognition of her transformational work within the Royal Households.

In June 2021, Beth received the Board Director of the Year Award at the Women in IT Awards.
