Kimia Witte

Kimia Witte is a multidisciplinary academic and researcher specializing in Biomedical Engineering, currently serving as a Lecturer and Chancellor's Fellow in Medical Device Development at the University of Strathclyde since January 2020. Additionally, Kimia is a Principal Investigator at the Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment and an Affiliate at the School of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Glasgow. Previous roles include Founder and Creative Director at Vertical Forest CIC and a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard University. With extensive research experience, Kimia has contributed to various projects focused on droplet-based microfluidics, biofabrication, and synthetic biology across multiple esteemed institutions, including work in several laboratories at the University of Glasgow and various international research collaborations. Kimia's educational background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Glasgow and multiple degrees in fine art, philosophy, and molecular biology.
