Clare Gryce

Clare Gryce is a seasoned professional in digital research services and IT management, currently serving as the Associate Director and Deputy IT Director (Research IT focus) at the University of Sussex since May 2019, where strategic development of research IT services and organizational development initiatives are key responsibilities. Prior to this role, Clare held various leadership positions at University College London from September 2002 to May 2019, including Director of Research IT Services, where accountability for the strategic development and delivery of IT services across the research lifecycle was paramount. Clare founded the first university-based research software development group in the UK and led the growth of the central research computing group, showcasing a strong commitment to service utilization and user satisfaction. Clare also contributed to the EPSRC as a member of the Strategic Advisory Team for the e-Infrastructure Programme. Educational accomplishments include a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Computer Science from UCL.
