Magnus Marsden is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in social anthropology. Currently serving as the Founding Director of the Sussex Asia Centre and a Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex since November 2013, Marsden previously held positions at SOAS University of London as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader from September 2007 to November 2013. Prior to that, Marsden was a Research Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge, while also serving as a Graduate Officer in Research at the University of Cambridge from October 2002 to September 2007. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Anthropology from Trinity College, Cambridge, and a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology from the same institution. Marsden completed secondary education at Lady Manners Comprehensive School.
