Marta Appleyard

Marta Appleyard (Gajewska) is an experienced professional with a strong background in executive management and project coordination within higher education and public sectors. Currently serving as Senior Executive Advisor at the University of Sussex since March 2024, Marta previously held key roles at The Association of Commonwealth Universities, including Executive Manager of the CEO Office and Executive Officer to the CEO, where responsibilities included managing operations and facilitating effective decision-making within complex academic environments. Prior to this, Marta contributed to The London School of Economics and Political Science in various capacities, supporting high-profile stakeholders and managing strategic initiatives. Marta's career also includes marketing and project management positions at City University London, Shropshire Primary Care Trust, Shropshire County Council, and NHS Dudley PCT. Marta holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Change and Management Consultancy from Birkbeck, University of London, a BA (Hons) in Public Relations from the University of Wolverhampton, and a PGDip in Marketing Communications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
