Martin Tomitsch is a prominent academic in interaction design, currently serving as a Professor and Head of the Transdisciplinary School at the University of Technology Sydney since February 2023. As a co-founder of the Life Centered Design Collective and Media Architecture Institute, Martin has been instrumental in advocating life-centred design principles and fostering discussions on media architecture applications since July 2022 and November 2009, respectively. Martin's extensive experience at the University of Sydney included roles as a Professor of Interaction Design, Director of Innovation, and Head of Design, where responsibilities encompassed developing innovative educational programs and leading the Design discipline. Martin's background also includes co-founding ICT4D.at, focusing on user-centred design and interaction design, and serving as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Technology Vienna. With a strong educational foundation inclusive of a PhD in Informatics and Interaction Design, Martin has cultivated a rich career in teaching, research, and organizational leadership in the field of design.
