Nick Hazell is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in innovation and biotechnology. Currently serving as an industry fellow at the University of Technology Sydney since October 2023, Nick is also the founder of Algenie, which aims to make algae biotechnology affordable and scalable to combat climate change. Previously, Nick was the CEO and founder of v2Food, an Australian startup focused on plant-based meat, and held the position of Senior Industrial Fellow at the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. Nick's role as the BCII Industry Innovation subject Coordinator at UTS involved lecturing and coordinating a Bachelor's program. Prior consulting work included innovation advisory services through Nick Hazell Pty Ltd. Nick's past experience also includes leadership roles at PepsiCo as Senior R&D Director and Mars as R&D Director, where innovative processes and product development were key responsibilities. Nick holds a Master of Engineering degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
