Vice President For Development at University of the Philippines

Ferdinand Pecson has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ferdinand started their career as a Vice President at Solid Cement Corporation in 1994, becoming a Vice President at Bacnotan Consolidated Industries Inc. in 1997. From 2000 to 2001, they worked as a Corporate and Operations Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. In 2001, they became the Manager of Parts Business Development at Deere & Co. From 2002 to 2008, they held various roles at Holcim Philippines, including Vice President for Operations and Vice President for Alternative Fuels and Raw Materials. Ferdinand then joined FLSmidth A/S in 2008 as an Operations & Maintenance Consultant and later became the Country Manager and Performance Director. From 2016 to 2022, they served as the Undersecretary and Executive Director at the Public-Private Partnership Center of the Philippines. In 2022, they worked as an Independent PPP Consultant at P3 Management Consultancy Services. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President for Development at the University of the Philippines, starting in 2023.

Ferdinand Pecson has a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Philippines, which they obtained from 1976 to 1981. Later, from 1984 to 1988, they pursued a PhD in Energy Engineering with a focus on Alternative Fuels at the same university. After that, from 1998 to 2000, Ferdinand attended Northwestern University, where they earned a Master of Engineering Management degree from the McCormick School of Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Kellogg School of Management. Their MBA studies concentrated on Operations, Marketing, and Finance, while their Master's in Engineering Management focused on Manufacturing Engineering.
