Laura Calder

Laura Calder has extensive experience in academia and healthcare, currently serving as an Associate Lecturer, Reader/Demonstrator, and Doctoral Researcher at the University of the West of Scotland since October 2021, focusing on the transition to retirement. Prior to this, Laura worked as a Research Assistant and Masters Student at Glasgow Caledonian University, where the dissertation addressed social isolation among older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous roles include Holistic Therapist at The Lomond Clinic Helensburgh, Treatment Room Nurse for the NHS, Nursing Sister at Highfield Care, Nursing Team Leader at Four Seasons, and Deputy Manager at REAL LIFE OPTIONS (CYMRU) LIMITED. Laura holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Public Health and an Honours BSc in Professional Health Studies from Glasgow Caledonian University, alongside diplomas and HNDs in health-related fields.
