Van Reese is an experienced laboratory specialist with a focus on biochemical and biophysical techniques, currently serving as a Senior Laboratory Specialist at the University of Utah since July 2017. Van's expertise includes running analyses for free radicals using electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Prior to this role, Van was a Laboratory Specialist at the University of Utah School of Medicine, conducting research on nitric oxide and free radical concentration in biological samples. Additional experience includes teaching microbiology as an Adjunct Instructor at Broadview University and extensive work as a Biological Sciences Lab Technician at the Department of Veterans Affairs, which involved evaluating immunologic and genetic mechanisms of rheumatoid arthritis. Van also held the position of Assistant Scientist at Cytozyme. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Microbiology/Biochemistry from the University of Montana and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Brigham Young University, complemented by an Associate degree in Microbiology from Brigham Young University - Idaho.
