Chrissy Gibbons

Chrissy Gibbons serves as the Senior Director of Development for Medical Research at the University of Virginia since July 2022, following a successful tenure at Shedd Aquarium where notable roles included Director of Scientific Advancement and Project Director of the Shedd Aquarium Microbiome Project, resulting in the establishment of a public-facing DNA laboratory. With a robust background in educational development and management, Chrissy has held various leadership positions focused on STEM education and community outreach, culminating in the Director of Constituent Services position where a CRM database was implemented. Earlier career experience includes roles at Glenview Park District, Chicago Paper Tube & Can Company, and Navigant Consulting, accompanied by an academic foundation with degrees from Stanford University, Northwestern University, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
