Chrissy Gibbons

Chrissy Gibbons is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in development and research leadership. Gibbons currently serves as Senior Director of Development for Medical Research at the University of Virginia. Previously, Gibbons held several key positions at Shedd Aquarium, including Director of Scientific Advancement, where responsibilities included leading a comprehensive research project to enhance understanding of microbial ecology and disease prevention in marine life, and directing a significant public-facing DNA laboratory initiative. Gibbons also has experience in program education with the Glenview Park District and marketing management at the Chicago Paper Tube & Can Company. Gibbons's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Biology from Stanford University and a recent design and illustration study funded by the Brinson Foundation.
