Lauren Hauser

Lauren Hauser is a dedicated education professional with extensive experience in reading education and outreach. Currently serving as a Reading Education and Outreach Specialist at the University of Virginia since July 2016, Lauren supports the McGuffey Reading Center and Reading@Curry. Previous roles include Reading Specialist at Albemarle County Public Schools, where Lauren focused on small-group reading and ESOL intervention for various grade levels, and a Teacher at Charlottesville City Schools, providing long-term substitute instruction and summer school support. Lauren's early career included teaching 9th-grade reading and English at Baltimore City Public Schools. Lauren holds an EdS in Reading Teacher Education and multiple degrees from the University of Virginia, The Johns Hopkins University, and Kenyon College, specializing in English language and literature.
