Erik Steen

Erik Steen is a seasoned digital accessibility specialist currently employed at the University of Washington since September 2025. Prior to this role, Erik served as a product manager at Exxat from June 2019 to September 2025 and held web development positions at the University of Washington and Bellevue College. Erik's early career included roles as owner and designer at Blue Blanket Studio, where a focus on custom WordPress sites for non-profits and small businesses was established, and as a user experience designer at WishChaser. Additionally, Erik contributed as a web developer for Peace Lutheran Church and as an owner at SparkBulb. An extensive background in visual production and media team operations was gained through participation in the ELCA Youth Gathering. Erik holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College, obtained from 1993 to 1997.
