Kelly Ness

Kelly Ness is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington, focusing on the mechanisms by which microglia influence peripheral blood glucose regulation through various approaches, including chemogenetic and optogenetic methods. Prior to this, Kelly completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physiology at Penn State University, where graduate research spanned from 2014 to 2019. Previous experience includes working as a Medical Technologist at MedStar Health, specializing in Flow Cytometry, Electrophoresis, and Microbiology, where immunofluorescence was employed to identify malignant cell populations. Additionally, Kelly served as a Teacher at Breakthrough Collaborative, imparting math skills to underserved students. Educational achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis.
