Saara Uthmaan

Saara Uthmaan is currently a Writing Tutor at the University of Washington, where support in writing assignments has led to notable achievements such as two graduate school admissions and three acceptances to esteemed programs. Uthmaan has also contributed to the EWN 2024 Tech Team as a member focused on website design. Previous roles include Career Peer at CodePath, where tailored coaching and documentation development were key responsibilities, and leadership positions such as President of UW Black in Informatics and Director of Diversity Efforts, aimed at enhancing support for Black students in the field. Other experiences encompass roles in outreach and communications at AVELA UW and ColorStack UW, participation in LinkedIn's Software Engineering Mentee program, and research as an undergraduate assistant at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering. Uthmaan is pursuing dual degrees in Informatics with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction and Creative Writing at the University of Washington, while also engaging in various industry and mentorship programs.
