Timeka N. Tounsel

Timeka N. Tounsel, PhD, is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor of Black Studies in Communication at the University of Washington since July 2022, following a tenure at Penn State University where Tounsel held positions as Assistant Professor of African American Studies and Media Studies and Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a PhD in Communication and Media Studies, Tounsel has provided significant contributions to diversity and inclusion in educational settings through roles such as Diversity and Inclusion Graduate Teaching Consultant at the University of Michigan and Associate Director of Recruitment and Diversity at the S.I.
