Shanthi Johnson serves as the Vice President of Research and Innovation at the University of Windsor since July 2023, overseeing the research and innovation ecosystem. Prior to this role, Shanthi Johnson was the Professor and Dean at the University of Alberta's School of Public Health from July 2018 to July 2023. With significant academic experience, Shanthi Johnson has held positions such as Fulbright Scholar and Courtesy Professor at the University of South Florida from January 2015 to April 2020, and Visiting Scholar at East China Normal University in June 2018. Additional roles include Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Regina's Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies, as well as teaching positions at Acadia University and research fellowships at notable institutions. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Kinesiology from Western University, a Master of Arts in Leadership from the University of Regina, and multiple degrees in Nutrition and Food Science from the Avinashilingam Institute and University of Madras.
