Charles Lee Isbell

Charles Isbell currently serves as the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a position held since August 2023. Alongside this role, Charles Isbell is a Board Member of Open Usage Commons and CMD-IT, and serves as a member and Chair of the Executive Board of the Board of Trustees at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago. Prior experience includes a distinguished academic career at Georgia Institute of Technology, where Charles Isbell held various positions from Assistant Professor to John P. Imlay, Jr. Dean of the College of Computing from 2002 to 2023. Earlier in their career, Charles Isbell was a Principal Research Scientist at AT&T Labs, Inc. Charles Isbell earned a PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology.
