Renee Wachter

Prior to her arrival at UW-Superior, Dr. Wachter served as the founding Dean of the School of Business at Truman State University, Missouri's designated highly selective public liberal arts and sciences university and member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges, a sister COPLAC institution of UW-Superior. The School enjoys separate AACSB International accreditations in business and in accounting, one of only 173 entities to have such. Her activities included an increase in international relationships, focusing on faculty/student exchange, transfer programs, research, and study in China, France, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Slovenia, Spain, and Vietnam.

Dr. Wachter served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Business at Montana State University and Founding Director, The Bracken Center for Excellence in Undergraduate Business Education. Her roles in Bozeman included leadership for the expansion of opportunities in internships and business professionalization for students, the enhancement of faculty development initiatives which facilitate excellence in pedagogy, and provision of resources for the maintenance of a contemporary curriculum. She provided oversight and administration for academic programs with specific attention to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and scholarship.

She was Associate Dean, School of Business and Director, Office of Graduate Business Programs at the University of Indianapolis. Under her aegis, curricula for MBA, ExecMBA, MBA-Athens (Greece), and MAcc degrees underwent restructure, the programs achieving accreditation under the Baldrige Quality Standard. As secretary of a designated ad hoc steering committee, she was cooperatively instrumental in the University's admission to the Academic Quality Improvement Project (AQIP) of The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. She was Acting Dean for a semester.

Previous to that, Dr. Wachter served as Director, Information Systems Option in the undergraduate business and M.B.A. programs at Ball State University (IN), teaching courses in the traditional classroom setting and in a satellite-based distance-learning format. Simultaneously as Director, Information Systems Computer Laboratory, she acquired a very significant library of software assets through a Microsoft Academic Cooperative Instructional Grant.

At I.U., she was Director of the Groupware Computer Lab: Collaborative Work Laboratory, Planning and Policy Studies Program where she facilitated sessions in strategic planning, conflict resolution, and brainstorming with profit and non-profit organizations and was liaison to the business community.
