Prior to this role, Julie held positions at Tarrant County College, Paul Quinn College, Rutgers University, Case Western Reserve University, Wayne State University, and Northern Kentucky University, all focusing on various aspects of student affairs and academic services. Their roles have included Vice President of Student Affairs, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education and Student Success, Assistant Dean for First Year Students, and Academic Advisor. Julie has consistently demonstrated their commitment to improving student services, promoting diversity and inclusion, and fostering collaboration between institutions to enhance the overall student experience.
Julie Amon has a strong educational background in higher education management and college student personnel. Julie obtained their Ed.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in Higher Education Management from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their M.Ed. in Higher Education and College Student Personnel from Kent State University from 1995 to 1999. Their undergraduate degree is a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Boulder, which they earned from 1989 to 1992. In addition to their academic qualifications, Julie has also obtained certifications in "Addressing Unconscious Bias as a Leader" and "Leading with Empathy" from LinkedIn in August 2022.
