Karl Hanson

Guest Professor at University of Zurich

Karl Hanson is a Full Professor at Université de Genève since January 2015 and serves as a Guest Professor teaching "Children's Rights" at the University of Zurich from September 2023. Previously, Karl held the position of Full Professor in public law specializing in children's rights at the Institut universitaire Kurt Bösch from September 2002 to December 2014, where Karl also served as an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer. Karl's academic journey includes significant roles at Ghent University from February 1993 to December 2002 as a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Human Rights and a Scientific Collaborator at the Centre for Children's Rights. Karl holds a PhD in Law with a focus on sociolegal studies from Ghent University and has completed an Erasmus study visit at the University of Amsterdam in Children's Rights Law, alongside earning a Master's degree in Law from Ghent University.
