Markus Seeger is a Full Professor for Biochemical Microbiology at the University of Zurich since June 2013, with prior roles as Associate Professor ad personam and Assistant Professor (SNF Professor). Research focuses on membrane transporters of Mycobacterium tuberculosis related to drug efflux and pathogenicity. Seeger completed a Postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge from January 2007 to January 2009, concentrating on the selection of DARPins against ABC transporters. Earlier experience includes a PhD at ETH Zurich from February 2003 to December 2006, studying the structural and functional aspects of the multidrug efflux pump AcrB from E. coli. Educational background includes a degree in Biotechnology from ETH Zurich and a Matura, Typus B (Latin) from Gymnasius St. Antonius, Appenzell.
