Kyra White

Kyra White has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Kyra began their career in 2004 as an English Teacher at Willow Run Community Schools, where they worked until 2011. Kyra then transitioned to Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, where they served as a School Success English Teacher for a year. In 2012, they joined Education Achievement Authority as an Instructional Coach. After five years, they moved on to Detroit Public Schools as an Assistant Principal in 2017. Currently, Kyra is working as the School Director (Principal) at University Prep Schools, a position they have held since 2019.

Kyra White earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in English & Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2003. Kyra then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, completing it in 2006. After a break, they returned to their studies and obtained a Specialist of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Eastern Michigan University in 2011.
