Varun B.

Varun B. has a diverse work experience in the field of quality engineering. Varun started their career at UNSW as an Automation Tester/Analyst in 2018. Varun then moved on to nbn™ Australia, where they designed and developed UI and API automation frameworks for the JIGSAW product. Varun was responsible for automation and functional testing of business acceptance requirements.

In 2019, Varun joined Equifax as a Senior Automation Test Engineer. There, they designed and developed an API and UI automation framework for the Global Screening product. Varun led discussions with stakeholders to understand their expectations from the automation framework.

Varun then joined ING as a Senior Dev Test Engineer in 2020. Varun led the design and development of a BDD JAVA-based API framework to test the bank-wide customer activity monitoring system. Additionally, they tested the Kafka message stream implemented on every transaction flowing to the fraud system.

In 2020, Varun joined Revenue NSW as a Senior Automation Engineer. Varun was responsible for designing and developing a Cucumber BDD Selenium UI and Rest Assured framework to test the new web application built for the Assured Revenue Programme. Varun'sautomation tests ensured that data displayed on the UI matched the data fetched from microservices.

In 2021, Varun worked at Gumtree.com as a Quality Engineer/Coach. Varun led quality engineering for the largest digital transformation in Gumtree’s history, focusing on front-end migration from JSP to React & NextJs and the back-end transition from a monolith to spring boot services.

Later in 2021, Varun joined Ignition Advice as a Principal Quality Engineer and Coach. Varun led the quality engineering practice for new and existing products, creating a QE roadmap and strategically dividing initiatives into different phases.

Varun’s most recent role was at Get Cheddar, where they served as a Lead Quality Engineer. Varun led the Quality Engineering practice, implemented various testing strategies and tools, and coached engineers on quality practices. Varun introduced test plan writing in mind maps, facilitated penetration testing, and integrated monitoring systems for effective test management.

Currently, Varun holds the position of Lead Quality Engineer at Unloan, where they continue to contribute with their expertise.

From 2002 to 2006, Varun B. attended Guru Nanak Dev University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering.
