Jorge Abril is a lawyer with a degree from Universidad del Rosario and a specialization in Constitutional Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Currently, they serve as the Head of Cooperation and Legal Affairs at UNODC for the Andean Region and Southern Cone. Previously, Jorge has worked as a legal advisor for various government entities and non-governmental organizations, focusing on public policy, human rights advocacy, and the implementation of the Peace Agreement in Colombia. They have also held positions as a national advocacy lawyer and have taught legal theory at Colombian universities.
