Karuna Herrmann currently serves as the Deputy Director of the UNOPS Humanitarian Advisory Team to the Famine Relief Fund, a position held since June 2021. Prior to this, Karuna Herrmann worked with the United Nations OCHA from November 2013 to June 2021, taking on various roles including Humanitarian Affairs Officer for the Syria, Iraq, and Libya desks, as well as in the Office of the Director of the Crisis Response Division. Additional experience includes roles as a Policy and Coordination Analyst and Policy Advisor with the United Nations from January 2012 to August 2013, and as a Policy Analyst with UNDP from September 2010 to December 2011. Karuna Herrmann also worked as an Independent Consultant from October 2009 to July 2010. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Human Rights from The London School of Economics and Political Science, a Bachelor's degree in Arabic and Politics from SOAS University of London, and an International Baccalaureate from the United World College of South East Asia.
