Sylvia Aguilar Camacho

Sylvia Aguilar Camacho is a seasoned sustainability management specialist and international development professional with over 20 years of experience in managing and implementing projects focused on sustainable development, sustainable procurement, waste management, and policy development. Currently serving as the Senior Consultant for Procurement Advisory Services at UNOPS since November 2018, Sylvia leads the unit responsible for providing strategic procurement advice to government partners and stakeholders. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at CEGESTI from 2001 to October 2018 as a consultant, as well as serving in a leadership capacity as Coordinadora Ambiente y Desarrollo. Additionally, Sylvia contributed to academia as a professor of Social Responsibility and Sustainability at Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica in mid-2018. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica and a Master's degree in Modern Manufacturing Systems from Tecnológico de Costa Rica.
