Gideon Yoong has a diverse work experience in the banking and finance industry. Gideon currently holds the position of Vice President- ECM Syndicate at DBS Bank starting from 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at UOB Kay Hian as Vice President- Equity Capital Markets where they managed a regional deal portfolio. Before that, Gideon worked at AmInvestment Bank Berhad as Manager- Equity Capital Markets, consistently exceeding expectations. Gideon also worked at Sage 3 Capital Sdn Bhd as a Corporate Finance Executive, focusing on advisory work. In addition, Gideon started their career at UOB Malaysia as a Management Trainee Officer- ARM and gained experience in credit proposals and cross-selling banking products. Gideon began their professional journey as a Trade Finance Intern at HSBC, where they improved efficiency and analyzed data.
Gideon Yoong has a strong education history in finance and economics. Gideon started their academic journey in 2001 with their SPM degree from Victoria Institution. From 2006 to 2007, they pursued a foundation degree in arts at HELP University. In 2008, they went on to study at Monash University where they completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, specializing in finance and economics, in 2010. Gideon continued their educational pursuits by taking the CFA Level 3 Examinations as a candidate at the CFA Institute from 2012 to 2017, focusing on investments and securities.
