Dr. Julie Uranis

Dr. Julie Uranis has a diverse range of work experience in the field of education. Dr. Julie served as the Vice President, Online and Strategic Initiatives at UPCEA, where they managed the Center for Online Leadership and led planning efforts for the Summit for Online Leadership. Dr. Uranis also worked as an Online Learning Consultant at UPCEA. At Eastern Michigan University, they held various roles including Adjunct Lecturer, Program Manager of EMU-Online, Coordinator of Distance Education, and Workforce Education Specialist. Additionally, they worked as the Director of Distance and Innovative Learning, as well as the Director of Distance Learning and Continuing & Professional Development at Western Kentucky University. Prior to their career in education, Dr. Uranis worked as a Newspaper Production Service Bureau/Diagrammer at Heritage Newspapers.

Dr. Julie Uranis has an extensive education history. Dr. Julie completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership-Higher Education from Eastern Michigan University, where they studied from 2010 to 2015. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Science in Technology Studies from the same university, which they completed from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Community College Leadership during the same period.

Dr. Uranis began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where they studied from 1990 to 1994.

In terms of certifications, Dr. Uranis also obtained the EDUCAUSE Presenter 2016 certification from EDUCAUSE in February 2016.
